Arboretum (Fundo Teja Norte)

Location: To get there you must cross the Pedro de Valdivia bridge to Isla Teja, followed by Los Robles Avenue and turn right on Calle Manuel Agüero.. Continue until late Fundo Teja Norte and move 100 meters.

Arboretum History: The origins of the Arboretum of the Austral University of Chile date back to 1971.

Features: Includes an area of 54 hectares consisting mainly valdiviano temperate forest, and to a lesser extent by the collection of exotic and native species. The arboretum near the Fundo Teja Norte remain the best example of natural environments Valdivian jungle. In it we find small pockets of primary forest, with copies of coigüe and oak centuries old, accompanied by olivillo, laurel and lingue maintaining their dynamic natural regeneration along with myrtle, hazel, radales, avellanillos, notros and thousands other species native to the Valdivian forest. The presence of excellent examples of swamp forest, dominated by Temu, pitra and cinnamon.
