Gallery Alerce Costero National Park

It is a private protected wilderness area created in 1989 by Arauco; It is located 28 kilometers from the city of Valdivia, in the Oncol hill on the coast of the province of Valdivia, in the region of Los Rios of Chile.

The surface of the park is 754 hectares. It is a place of great beauty that occupies part of the Cordillera de la Costa, between the Pacific Ocean and the Nature Sanctuary of Río Cruces.

The top of the hill reaches 715 meters above sea level (masl), and is only 5 km from the beach, with the highest peak in the Cordillera de la Costa and the hill between Nahuelbuta Mirador in the Cordillera Pelada.

Which it is characterized by a wet, evergreen and mixed forest, with its own characteristics of a tropical forest, but located in a temperate region. Such forests are also presented in New Zealand, but there are in the northern hemisphere.
