Protected Areas

Description: the route covers a distance of 27 km. Between Corral and Chaihuín and is neighboring communities Huiro, Huape and Cadillal.

To access from Valdivia, the best alternative is:
Valdivia Niebla: 17 km. Asphalt road.

Fog Corral: waterway navigation bay ferry, 30 minutes.

Corral Chaihuín: 27 km. Coast Road, passable all year round, stable way.

It is set on the banks of Chaihuín river, which rises in the south-west of the Comuna de Corral, within the Cordillera de la Costa. Communicates the small settlements of Upper and Lower Cadillal located approximately 5 kilometers Chaihuín. It has good tourist infrastructure, camping, cabins, lodges.
The Chaihuín River begins in the municipality of La Union, at the top of the Valdivian Coastal Reserve and Alerce Costero National Park.
Its basin covers an area of ??313 km² and its main course becomes the northern boundary of the reserve, with a length of 87.7 km.
